Vattathukkul Chaduram is a 1978 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by S. P. Muthuraman and produced by N. S. Mani. Based on the novel written by Maharishi,[2] the film stars Latha, Sumithra, Srikanth and Sarath Babu. It depicts the depth of friendship shared between the characters Anu and Malathy.

Anu falls in love with Karthik, the brother of her best friend Malathy from childhood. Karthik doesn't like her, since she was born out of wedlock. Malathy has always done well in school and wishes to continue studying further. Kartik and Malathy's mother tries to get her married. Anu suggests that she could take her along to Chennai, where she could continue studying while Anu pursues a dancing career. Anu has to compromise and get along with her hotel managers to get a dancing contract to earn money to educate Malathy. Meanwhile, Malathy's fiancée doesn't approve of her friendship with a club dancer, and asks Malathy to cut Anu out of her life. Though Malathy doesn't approve of her friend's way of earning a living, she cannot throw away 15 years of friendship. Malathy decides to cancel the marriage proposal in order to save her friendship. Anu goes to extreme measures to save her friend's love life.

Puthiya Paravai is a 1964 Indian Tamil-language romantic thriller film directed by Dada Mirasi. Produced by Sivaji Ganesan, the film stars himself, B. Saroja Devi, M. R. Radha and Sowcar Janaki, with Nagesh, Manorama, V. K. Ramasamy, O. A. K. Thevar and S. V. Ramadas in supporting roles. The plot revolves around Gopal, who falls in love with Latha, a woman he recently befriended, when his presumed-dead wife Chitra arrives to tell him that she is still alive. He claims her to be an impostor but no one believes him.

Puthiya Paravai is the maiden Tamil production of Sivaji Films, later renamed Sivaji Productions. The screenplay was written by Nannu, and the dialogues by Aaroor Dass. Cinematography was handled by K. S. Prasad and editing by N. M. Shankar. The soundtrack album and background score were composed by the duo Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy while the lyrics were written by Kannadasan.

Rajam) and her mother (C. K. Saraswathy) towards the other members of the house. The landlady's husband is Sivalingam (V. S. Raghavan), her brother (Cho Ramaswamy) and her mother-in-law (S. R. Janaki). The widow's step-daughter Uma (Pushpalatha) and her children undergo many miseries at their hands. To add to this, Lakshmi (Jayalalithaa) a simple village teacher, married the landlady Mangamma's brother. She was physically and mentally abused. Sundaram chances upon a look-like of Lakshmi, Rani (Jayalalithaa) and requests her to impersonate Lakshmi and teach Mangamma and her mother a lesson. Does Rani accept this proposal?
